Hi, my name is Zach Potts.

I am the owner of Roofing and Siding Smiths. As you read some of these “Thank You!” notes you may be wondering why they sound as if they are directed to someone else, well that is because they were. When I first started in the construction industry I was a subcontractor. I have always enjoyed working on homes and getting to see what has been accomplished at the end of the job and the pride that others take when they invest in their family and their future by improving their home.

One thing I quickly realized is that these large companies appear to really care about their customers, but after an 8 hour mind numbing sales pitch from an ex car salesman all you are left with is an over-priced job and the hope that the contractor who shows up to work on your home actually cares about quality. I personally believe that in all things we should do things to the best of our abilities, and that carried over to my jobs for these other companies.

The only problem is that a lot of contractors are only worried about how fast they can get done and get paid. So, with that in mind, I decided to start my own company. I bring a level of care and craftsmanship to every job and hold myself personally liable for the guys that work with me. Colton went above and beyond to help us get a new roof, and was willing to meet us at our home in the evening. Christina checked in with me every week to inform me about when the materials would be arriving. The morning of the install Mark did a walk around with us, before the roofers got started to address any questions we might have had. We first contacted Roofing and Siding Smiths for installation of seamless gutters all around our house just after we bought the place back in 2019. The work that Zach Potts and crew did was excellent. We were very pleased with their work. This is why, when having to replace our roof from recent storm damage, we called RSS to the rescue. The first person we contacted was Christina Money. She keeps the place running. She sent Colton Murphey out to determine the extent of the tornado damage. But here’s the thing, our chimney was severely damaged where it was ripped off and flattened up against the house’s second story. It was just sitting there waiting for some major gust of wind to come along and take it off the roof where it would tear into the first floor windows. Colton didn’t have to do it, but he climbed up onto the roof and helped me get that chimney off the roof before the next storm hit that night. We were and are very thankful for Colton’s efforts. Next came the roofing crew. They were led by Richard Key and Ilias Tovar. They showed up bright and early worked nonstop till the roof was completely repaired. And boy does it look fantastic. When complete they took extra care to insure the yard was free all debris. Then they followed that with a complete walk around the house with a magnet wheel looking for any nails that were loose in the yard. Good hard working crew and Richard and Ilias are why. After the roof was completed, the gutter crew came to work. Scott Mobley and Sam Crabtree made quick work of repairing/replacing all damaged gutters and downspouts. They worked out of a trailer that was stocked with all the necessary equipment and materials to manufacture what was needed. They did a great job. But back to Christina Money. Christina is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She was always so helpful and cordial on the phone and even better in person. She kept us up to date on all things happening. She called to let us know that the delivery of the roofing materials would be here about 3:30pm and sure enough, they pulled in at 3:30. That may not sound like a big deal but when you live out in the boonies, it is. We are extremely pleased that we chose Roofing and Siding Smiths to repair our tornado damage. An outstanding crew. We had roof repaired on our house and siding on our garage replaced with hardy board siding. Christina the office manager was very professional and helpful, she had Colton out promptly to evaluate the job. Richard and roofing crew made quick work on roof repairs. Mark and Sam on the siding crew was very hard working and professional. There was no profanity or cigarette butts THAT WAS A BIG PLUS FOR US. From start to clean up all was great. I will definitely call them with any further jobs when needed. We’ll definitely recommend them to everyone.

Colton came out and gave us a siding estimate. I thought it was slightly high and he worked with me on the price. While doing the estimate he noticed hail damage to my roof and gutters. Which ended up being replaced by insurance. The actual siding crew was great. They installed James Hardie siding and knew how to do it correctly. Mark was the main guy for the crew and he knows what he is doing. Mark also pays attention to details and I knew I could trust him to do the job correctly and not take short cuts. After the siding was done Colton met with my insurance adjuster and went over all the roof and gutter issues. The RSS crew came out and within 1 day they had the roof replaced. There were some concerns about the drip edge and gutters but RSS sent Mark back out and he fixed the problems. Mark is a valuable employee. Besides the on the job site stuff, Christina Money kept in touch and would let me know what was happening and when to expect workers to show up. She did a great job making sure the men didn’t forget about scheduling and paperwork. I am very impressed with the job. I have recommended them to others and will continue to do so.

We just want to let you know what a wonderful job you did on our house! We weren’t really sure if we could salvage this old house! The transformation is absolutely amazing! After having several encounters with some “less than stellar” contractors, it was indeed a pleasure to do business with a man of your integrity and high degree of professionalism.

The cost was also very reasonable. It was about half the amount quoted by two other companies.
You really went the extra mile on this house! I know it really posed some challenges for you, and you graciously took the extra time to deal with them at absolutely NO extra charge. We can never thank you enough for a job well done!
